January marked one year since going paleo. ONE WHOLE YEAR. More than 30 pounds lost and so much gained. A whole new outlook on healthy living. An immense appreciation for the clean, wholesome food I eat. A fresh perspective on grocery shopping, ordering at a restaurant, reading labels, understanding ingredients, cooking for myself and my family, owning poor choices and rewarding good ones. I originally set out on the paleo journey to get back to a certain number on the scale. That quickly changed when I realized just how much adopting a paleo lifestyle was truly changing my life.
By now, you’re likely a month into accomplishing your 2018 resolutions, and then there’s me: incredibly indecisive, toying with lots of thoughts and ideas… not sure what to focus on or where to begin. If we’re being completely honest, I’ve put off the whole “New Year’s resolution” idea since the holidays. It’s no secret, 2017 was a doozie. And frankly, committing to something big and bold for 2018 scares me. But thankfully, things already seem brighter this year than last, giving me a renewed sense of energy and positivity for the year ahead.
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write a post — and frankly, I don’t even know where to begin. Life has a way of shaking you up sometimes, and well, the last few months have certainly done that.
