Spring has sprung and I’m so excited to see this warm, wonderful sunshine! We’ve been spending a lot of time outside over the last few days and it’s such a welcomed change from the dreary, wet weeks we recently had here in Houston. And to celebrate this sunshine, let’s talk for a minute about the power of a good pair of sunnies, shall we? Guys, I snagged these new shades on super duper sale recently and they have totally upped my spring accessory game.
Forget winter, spring, summer or fall… rodeo season is my favorite of all! Born and raised in Houston, I look forward to rodeo time every year. While I’m not a cowgirl and didn’t grow up with horses or a ranch or anything of the like, I learned the importance of Go Texan Day and a good old-fashioned square dance from a young age. This past weekend was the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s World Championship BBQ Contest, which kicks off rodeo season in Houston. With more BBQ, beer and booze than you can imagine, it was a great excuse to celebrate in true southern style. We had a blast!
I own a lot (I mean, a LOT) of black clothing. As a busy mom, I find it so versatile and easy to grab and go when I’m hustling to get ready for dinner or an evening out — and Valentine’s Day is no exception. While red or pink are often the expected color choices for the holiday, I opted for black on black for our early Valentine’s Day date night last weekend. And I got to show off a little sparkle too with this beautiful beaded A. Tak Crafts necklace — y’all, isn’t it just so pretty?!
