Hello my long-time-no-read friends! I feel as though I’ve been on a sabbatical of some sort, only it hasn’t involved any exotic retreats except for places like Syracuse, New York and Allentown, Pennsylvania. No, rather motherhood has become a top priority and my work has, unfortunately, taken over way too much of my life as of the last few months with me traveling almost every other week.
But yesterday was a wonderful milestone in our little family. My baby, my first-born had his first day in Kindergarten. I could not have been a prouder mamma. We dropped off the little guy first and then drove to the school together, as a family. We parked and walked inside together. His little hand in mine.
And I could not have been more thrilled when we picked him up in the afternoon and he said, “Mom, I really love my school!” That was a moment of victory and relief. I know my own child, but there’s always that wondering of how they will react to brand new situations.
While he won’t be little forever, I’m trying to soak in all of these precious moments one at a time. All too soon will it be the last day of Kindergarten and he’ll move on to first grade and so forth. But it’s the adventures in between that I want to live for. If everyday is an adventure, then life is certainly worth living to the fullest – don’t you agree?
