Swell Summer at the Spring

The hubs and I have been desperately seeking a sun-filled vacation, so last weekend we packed up and headed to Austin for a quick trip filled with all of our favorites — sleep, sun, food and fun. We chowed our way through some of our fave eateries in town including Magnolia Cafe (hello pancakes!) and the beloved Oasis for Fourth of July fireworks on the lake.

Thankfully, we lucked out with beautiful, sunny weather and spent both Saturday and Sunday at Barton Springs, soaking in the sun with the occasional dip in the cold spring. If you’re heading to Austin soon — especially in this hot summer heat — this spot is a must! All you need is a bag of essentials, swimsuit and sunnies and you’re good to go. Plus, it’s in Zilker Park and super central.

As a curvy girl, I’ve always been a fan of the one-piece. It’s hassle-free and there are so many adorable styles, patterns and prints to choose from these days. I paired a basic black retro-style suit (an oldie but a goodie, similar) with one of my favorite brightly colored sarongs (old, similar), comfy Havaianas and this darling, fuchsia Swell Caroline tote — perfect for a swim day.

I just love the playful elephant pattern on this tote. If you aren’t familiar with the Swell Caroline brand, it’s a great online shopping experience for those of us who love trendy, quality and affordable jewelry and accessories. They have tons of monogramming options too and I’ve personally been eying their Myrtle necklaces… so fun!

PS – Just two more days till the weekend! Something tells me this tote will be on repeat this weekend poolside. ;)

What a cute bag! We are headed to Austin this weekend for a day trip. I won’t get to see everything that I’d like to, but it’ll be a nice taste!
