We’re in the beginning stages of (finally) painting and decorating our master bedroom in our home. With the exception of the bathrooms, we have painted every other room in our house. We have labored with love and given our time and attention to all the other spaces in our house to really make it a home. And while there are always projects here and there to be done, the master bedroom, our “sanctuary” has sat for almost four years with little to no thought given to it.
Sad to say, but with two little ones, the room has become an after-thought, so I’ve spent some time on Pinterest (of course!) gathering inspiration and ideas about color palette, bedding, paint and accessories. There are many styles I like and thankfully, my hubby has given me practically free reign when it comes to choosing the colors and decor.
His input – he just wants it to look and feel like an adult space. Can I get an amen?! Especially when the rest of our house currently caters to preschoolers and toddlers, we can definitely use some grown-up space.
This a multi-part series, so get ready, here is a sneak peek featuring part one and I am in love with these details!
From creating an open IKEA closet to styling accessories like a pair of gorgeous lamps from Marshalls (for $39.99 – I know!) and also incorporating some of my grandmother’s antiques, I hope for our room to be a mix of classic and modern, cozy and comfortable. Keep an eye out for part two that is sure to include a fresh coat of teal paint and gold-framed gallery art. Happy weekend!
