Affordable Fancies: Wedding Gifts on a Budget

I love weddings. I love everything about weddings. I love getting dolled up, taking part in one of the most memorable days in a couple’s life, partying till dawn, and the fun and merriment of the entire occasion. But let’s be real — wedding season is not for the cheap.

We legit have a wedding or wedding-related event every other weekend between now and summer (holy moly) and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be included in all of the wonderful celebrations to come! That being said, things can add up quick.

I’ve always been a sucker for a good gift. And the idea of picking something unique and special for those I love for their wedding are certainly no exception. But from showers and bachelorette parties to the weddings themselves, I simply can’t afford to go all out on every single gift during wedding season. So I’ve learned to do my research and spend wisely on gifts that really make a lasting impression without burning a hole in my pocket.

Here are my top five affordable fancies for weddings. All of these are my go-to gifts for wedding season and are less than $75 a pop!

First up, the stoneware mugs from Le Creuset. These come in a ton of bright, fun colors! I often opt for a set of four and they are always a big hit for bridal showers or weddings. Registries usually include Le Creuset pieces (the Dutch ovens are very popular) but rarely do they list these mugs. I think they are such a great pop of color for the kitchen and make for a practical, useful gift. Plus, at just $14 each, they are super affordable. Le Creuset also carries an espresso cup option, which can be great for those couples who drink espresso at home.

My second go-to gift is the ona large pitcher from Crate and Barrel. The thing about C&B is that their glassware styles tend to change slightly from year to year. Thankfully, this piece has stuck around for a LONG time and is a fan-favorite. I have purchased this for friends and family (for weddings, holidays and anniversaries) and I even have one in my kitchen! It looks uber chic and is a fun statement piece to keep on the bar or counter. And the biggest perk? It only costs $25 — and they even use this pitcher at Le Cirque in NYC! Yes, it’s the same… I asked. ;)

You guys will NEVER guess where I found the next affordable fancy… Tiffany’s. Yes, that gorgeous woven square crystal bowl is from Tiffany’s. A beautiful, timeless piece to add to the home that friends and family will have forever. And it’s just $35. Need I say more?

Of course, I always love me a great Nambe find too — and this love bowl is just darling. It’s a classic piece to have for entertaining or to place atop a pretty stack of coffee table books. A shiny Nambe bowl adds a touch of simplicity and style to a room or table… and at $60, it’s just the perfect little present.

Last but certainly not least, these Kate Spade grace avenue toasting flutes. I prefer giving gifts that also serve a meaningful purpose, and these flutes are a thoughtful option to give for the wedding toast. They will hold meaning and memory for a lifetime and will be a constant reminder of the happiest day of their lives. And hello… talk about a good bow! You can find these for $65, and they have them at Bed Bath & Beyond too, so use a coupon!
