Since we’ve moved into our home (over three years ago) I envisioned a dining room that was classically beautiful. It’s been a work in progress over the years including a major paint job with the hubby installing chair rail and crown molding last Christmas break. We love to entertain at home and often host a lot of the family get-togethers, so it was important to both of us to create a warm and welcoming room to do so.
I “finished” the room over this holiday break by adding a beautiful new sideboard that now holds my mom’s everyday china I grew up with. As I unpacked the box that contained the nostalgic pattern, I couldn’t help but now dream of hosting new gatherings where I could serve the hubby’s brisket on my mom’s dinner plate. After all, it’s all in the details.
There are still big projects we’d like to eventually have done – like hand-scraped hardwoods throughout, but I love that this is a cozy gathering place where we have hosted dinner parties, barbecues and intimate dinners with close friends alike. What elements does your favorite entertaining space have that make it so unique? I’d love to know! Stay warm today, lovelies!
