Winning Looks from the GG

Aaaaand just like that, it’s Monday. Blah. First and foremost, THANK YOU for the number of supportive, loving texts and messages I received in response to Friday’s post. I have to admit that it was just as hard to write as it was to hit publish. But boy did it feel good.

It was a cold, rainy weekend in Houston and most of it was spent relaxing, catching up on my newest obsession, doing a little shopping (including this J.Crew trapper hat for under $20), brunching with friends, and getting organized for some exciting changes that I cannot wait to share. And of course, the Golden Globes!

If you’re a girly-girl like me, then you likely also tuned into the red carpet coverage last night — I love a good red carpet, don’t you? Gah, so much beauty in one place! Plus, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the ultimate female duo. Funniest. Women. Ever.

Can we talk about the whole George Clooney acceptance speech for a minute? That man has had every woman’s heart since his ER days and here he goes again, making all of us swoon. In case you missed it, listen to his speech to wife Amal here.

I had several top fashion picks from the evening but my three favorite looks are:

I guess I have a thing for necklines! I really love Kate Beckinsale’s soft and sparkly Elie Saab gown with her sleek hair and dark nails. She’s always so stunning! Claire Danes has had some wins and misses over the years but this Valentino dress is really great on her. I love that she opted for something dark but not solid black! The textures are really elegant. And last but not least, Sienna Miller in this romantic Miu Miu number. Need I say more? Who do you think wore it best?

Some of the misses of the night — Jennifer Aniston in a boring black halter, Amanda Peet in an awful pillow-like gown that literally swallowed her, and Keira Knightley in something that was just so bad all around.

But all in all, another gorgeous red carpet for the books!
