Happy hump day! I’m on the road this morning, heading to some work commitments but wanted to take a second to share one of the major highlights of last weekend. To begin with, it was the first time we had a house guest in Houston and naturally, it was Jessica! I was beyond happy that she was able to come in and spend the weekend with us. Seeing as this was one of her first times traveling to Houston solo, we bopped around town and I showed her some of my favorite hotspots (including Torchy’s and the gorgeous homes in The Heights — we took a brisk morning walk along Buffalo Bayou Park, too). But clearly the highlight of her visit was attending the CultureMap Holiday Pop Up! You guys, it was so much fun.
In case you didn’t have a chance to go, it was held at Silver Street Studios, a giant industrial space that is easily one of the coolest spots for a pop-up in town. With twinkle lights all around, darling booths from 25 of the loveliest local retailers, and little vignettes for resting your feet while sipping on frothy cocktails, the event was a magical winter wonderland. I love it when a first-ever event goes off without a hitch — bravo, CultureMap!
We were honored to be Official Ambassadors of the event and took the time to get to know many of the owners and retailers represented. We spent a good 3 hours there… after all, we had to touch everything right?! We ran into some of our favorites including Julie and Whitney and finally got to meet familiar faces like Morgan, Alex and Lauren in person. We had a ball!
