Who doesn’t love layers this time of year? It’s the best way to bundle up while having the option of shedding a piece or two if the weather warms up in the afternoon. To me, it’s the smartest way to dress during transitional seasons and makes my morning routines a breeze. My go-to layering pieces right now are thin scarves with structured, lightweight jackets and breathable cotton that’s comfy and easy to layer under heavier clothing.
First up on my layered list? I’m really loving a lot of the fall finds at Anthro — especially this top that is seriously soft, trimmed with sweet chiffon and comes in a TON of colors. I’m always on the lookout for tops like this for fall/winter and I think I’ve finally found the ultimate tee. Plus, it’s flowy!
Next up — the jacket. Every fall, I try to add a new jacket to my closet. Not necessarily a coat (there are only so many times you wear a coat in Texas) but jackets are perfect for layering and I find that they get a lot of great use. Last year, I scored a lightweight Michael Kors navy + army green quilted jacket and this year, I’m thinking I need a leather moto jacket. Eying these two options at the moment.
Last but not least, thin scarves. I have a giant bucket in my closet with at least 30 scarves rolled up inside. I just love the way they add a little oomph to an outfit — and they make all the difference on those chilly autumn evenings. You can find lightweight scarves just about everywhere right now but I especially adore this darling pink and white scarf (with pom-poms!) via Waiting on Martha.
Do you love layering as much as I do? What’s your go-to garment?
