Last night was a rather perfect evening in every sense of the word. My four year-old ate his dinner (including the veggies) with no protests. I got to spend time with my five month-old, see his adorable dimples and hear his little giggles. My husband built a cozy fire for us to all enjoy on a very chilly January night.
On top of that all, after having returned to work today from a much needed holiday break, I had the energy to make a delicious casserole using simple ingredients from my pantry and fridge. (Don’t worry – I’ll share the recipe with you next week!)
The icing on the cake was getting to browse my January issue of Better Homes & Gardens after getting both boys to bed while the hubs watched a little football.
One of my New Year’s resolutions (I haven’t made the official “list” yet) is to plan our family meals in a better, more efficient manner in order to have simpler evenings while still putting a delicious and healthy meal on the table.
I think I may have found just the right tool to help me do so. You will have to check out Cozi – a nifty little app that packs a big punch by letting you sinc your family’s busy life all into one convenient place.
From their website – Cozi helps you keep track of everything from school schedules to sports activities, grocery lists, meals and chores — all in one place accessible by every member of the family and from any computer or mobile device.
I’m still learning my way around the app; but when it comes to home organization, I love color coding and Cozi allows you to assign a color to each family member. This makes looking at that busy calendar super simple to decode.
I have to say though, I’m most excited to find out how well the grocery list syncing will work out. With the app on both our phones, my hubby and I can zoom through the store (at twice the pace, ideally) and cross items off the list as we go.
Hopefully this will help simplify meals and make dinnertime a bit easier throughout the year. Try it out and tell me how you use it to organize your busy life!
