R&R Holiday Meet-up

On Saturday, Casey from Real Suburbia, Stephanie from The Vintage Modern Wife and Adrian of Revelry Beauty joined us in San Marcos, Texas for our very first Ruthie & Rose meet-up! It was such a wonderful day filled with sunshine, laughter and lots of great holiday shopping. And it was a true pleasure getting to know these beautiful bloggers. Honestly, we could not have asked for a more perfect day.

The meet-up began at Cool Mint Cafe — the most charming little spot in San Marcos! Jessica and I surprised each of the gals with an R&R tote bag filled with holiday goodies that reflected our passions and our blog categories. Inside was everything from coffee and peppermint candies to wintry gift wrap and sparkly polish. They each also got a customized stemless wine glass and a little can of Sofia champagne. After all, who doesn’t want to drink bubbly through a pink straw?!

The restaurant was gracious enough to treat us to some yummy appetizers, and then we all ended up ordering the most delicious tomato and basil soup with mini grilled cheeses! They were so, so good. Of course, no meal is complete until dessert is devoured, so we made sure to order a piece of chocolate cake and the most divine, ooey, gooey warm vanilla cake you’ve ever tasted. We enjoyed every bite of the meal while sharing more about our passions and interests, family life and careers. We loved hearing more about everyone’s blogging journey — what inspiring women!

Once our bellies were full, we ventured off to the San Marcos outlets where we had an exciting agenda outlined for the group. First stop, Tory Burch! From the moment we stepped foot in the store, we were overcome with joy. Not only was their staff incredibly attentive and enthusiastic but they were anxious for our arrival days prior to our visit. Dev (our contact at the store) greeted us and made sure our visit was both comfortable and fun. Several pairs of shoes and a few brightly-colored leather accessories later, we went on our merry way. Big thanks to the staff at the Tory Burch outlet… You were amazing to work with and we L-O-V-E your store!

Next up, a fan favorite… Francesca’s! Who doesn’t love their sparkly statement necklaces and those racks of adorable clothes? From the great gift items to the Aztec-inspired sweaters stacked on the tables, it was certainly a fun stop for the day. Once again, we were met with such sweet staff who were ready to help us discover those perfect gift items on our list. We grabbed some goodies for family members and friends, plus a few must-have treats for ourselves. Truth be told, you simply can’t walk out of Francesca’s without some new beautiful baubles! Oh, and we might be a tad bit obsessed with their Velvet Noir perfume… HELLO GORGEOUS.

We made a quick stop at Vera Bradley but the store was incredibly crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we decided to hop on over to our final store of the day… Yankee Candle! The manager was so incredibly friendly and excited to have us visit. She had even prepared little goodie bags for us with holiday votive candles, coupons and car fresheners! Needless to say, we put those coupons to good use and picked a few favorite scents to go home with.

From start to finish, it was a fabulous day. Meeting these lovely ladies in person was such a treat and the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season. We fully intend on hosting more meet-ups in the future… and we guarantee you that there will be some road trips to visit these gals soon! Thank you to Casey, Stephanie and Adrian for joining us on Saturday and to Tory Burch, Francesca’s and Yankee Candle for making the meet-up such a success. Happy holidays!
