My baby turned four years-old this past week and we celebrated with a gathering of family and friends in our home over the weekened. Somehow we’ve gone from bouncers and baby bottles to super heroes and GI Joes!
With having another little one in the household and keeping things on a tight budget – we opted to keep things simple for this year’s birthday party. A classic Texas appetizer of chips and queso allowed guests to gather their appetite and hotdogs with homemade chili made for an easy afternoon meal.
Since my little man loves superheroes so much – Captain America being his favorite, we topped off the fun with cupcakes that echoed the theme. I whipped up some strawberry cupcakes with blue cream cheese frosting and white chocolate chips. No, not everything was homemade, but it was all scrumptious and simple to make. Just what I needed – simplicity!
The best part was that my kiddo had a blast with his friends and collapsed with joyous exhaustion at the end of such a fun-filled day.
