A little over a year ago, I took the last name of the love of my life. There’s so much meaning behind changing your name and while the switch took some adjustment, it brings me such joy to share his name. One of the first things I did after we returned from our honeymoon and settled in was search for new bedding. I knew we wanted white and had to have a monogrammed pillow. After much indecisiveness, online searches and trips to Pottery Barn, we finally found a set we loved. But I have to admit, I wasn’t 100 percent sold until everything arrived and was perfectly pressed and in place on our bed. THE MONOGRAM. FRONT AND CENTER.
With our monogrammed sham centered on our bed, it acts as a daily reminder of the vows and promise we made to love and protect each other now and always. It represents the present and our future, and the home and family we will build together. Its significance is so much more than three little letters.
And I’d be lying if I said the monogramming ended there. I have embraced my new initials wholeheartedly. From a new business card holder and pencil cup from Design Darling, a burlap wreath from Barn Door Designs, paper napkins and plastic cups to a beach bag, Marley Lilly clutch and more, it’s been fun to play with my new monogram.
